I think this is a good example of how people living in poverty or just in low income in society sometimes feel they can't excel. However, I like how this video kind of twists at the end with a motivational notice that dreams can be met but you have to "go get it" and don't let any one tell you you cant!
Love it, and its very true. All low income people have is hope and motivation. That is what got me here. It is very hard because you are reminded everyday by your surrondings and it takes a lot. A lot of prayer and dreams to make it. And with all these darn categories, it makes it that much harder. This of course is a very sensitive subject for me because I see so many people that I grew up with that did not overcome but settle for what society said that they were good enough for. I am most blessed that I held on and continued chasing my goals despite all the obstacles that came my way.
I personally really admire you May, I mean with two kids and going to a great and challenging school like UT: wow! I am so proud of you and I don't even know you that well yet. I feel the same, my brother and sister are a great example of how individuals in society sometimes conform because they feel that there is nothing out there for them than just the life they are living now. I know that is not true but I know that because I kept going to school. Education is something I feel everyone should have access to because sometimes not being aware of your surroundings leads you to end in this narrow ally where you feel like you cannot get out or succeed in society.
